This division deals with assessing environmental and social implications of project activities. This is undertaken throughout the project cycle that includes: feasibility studies, detailed engineering design, construction supervision, operation and decommissioning phases.

Specific activities undertaken under this division include:

i)  Determining the baseline biological and physical environment.

ii)  Determining the baseline social economic environment.

iii) Determining activities of the project that are likely to cause significant impact on the biophysical and socio economic environments.

iv)  Identifying potentially significant biophysical and social economic impacts of the project.

v)  Analyzing potential environmental impacts.

vi)  Determining mitigation measures to significant impacts.

vii)  Establishing environmental monitoring and management plans for projects.
